Holden Special Vehicles has taken the wraps off its latest limited edition range, the HSV E Series 3 SV Black Edition.
The HSV ClubSport R8, ClubSport R8 Tourer and Maloo R8 will all be available in SV Black Edition guise. Just 225 SV Black Edition models will be built in total: 100 ClubSport R8s, 100 Maloo R8s, and 25 ClubSport R8 Tourers.
The black theme starts on the outside with matte black paint-outs on the front and sides, which combine with the bonnet scoops and side vents.
Forged and staggered 20-inch gloss black SV Performance alloy wheels are also standard across the range.
Inside, the console, instrument panel and steering wheel all get a fresh finish. Onyx leather trim, matte black badging, special edition sill plates, unique numbered build plate and a lip spoiler on the ClubSport R8 round out the package.
Mechanically, all SV Black Edition models are unchanged, meaning the 317kW/550Nm 6.2-litre LS3 Gen 4 V8 continues to breath fire below the bonnet.
HSV chief of design and styling, Julian Quincey, said existing HSV customers had a considerable input into the design of the SV Black Edition.
“We know our customers love our mix of performance, technology, and unique styling,” Mr Quincey said.
“For the SV Black Edition, we have taken our unique styling to another level and created what we believe is one of the best special editions we’ve ever produced.”
The SV Black Edition officially goes on sale in September, although HSV dealers begin taking pre-orders today. The limited edition package adds $4000 to the price of the standard ClubSport models and $3000 to the price of the standard Maloo.
