2011 Nissan Murano facelift on sale in Australia in September

The 2011 Nissan Murano facelift will go on sale in Australia in September with refreshed styling, new interior technology and a small price rise.

The updated model features a new front grille, bumper and headlight design, leading to a more svelte appearance, though admittedly one that is still very much ‘love it’ or ‘hate it’.

The taillights have also been revised, mirroring the updates to the smaller Dualis. The design of the 18-inch alloy wheels and roof rails is new, while rear privacy glass is now standard. The entry-level Murano ST also gets front fog lamps added to the exterior.

Inside, both models feature rain-sensing wipers. The ST also adds a Bose audio system with 2GB HDD, seven-inch colour display, reversing camera and heated front seats. The top of the range Ti scores Nissan’s new satellite navigation system, USB port with iPod connectivity and a 9GB HDD.

The 2011 model year updates add $1500 to the price of the Murano ST and $500 to the Murano Ti.

The Murano’s drivetrain is unchanged, with the 3.5-litre V6 continuing to produce 191kW of power and 336Nm of torque, and using 10.9 litres/100km of fuel on the combined cycle.

The Nissan Murano currently makes up 3.5 per cent of the medium SUV market, which is up from 3.0 per cent in 2010.

2011 Nissan Murano facelift manufacturer’s list prices (excluding government and dealer charges):

  • Murano ST – $47,990
  • Murano Ti – $58,390
