Peugeot 508 at Australian International Motor Show 2011
The new Peugeot 508 has just been unveiled at the 2011 Australian International Motor Show in Melbourne. This is the car's official local debut, and the first chance Australians have had to see it in the flesh.
The Peugeot 508 was first unveiled to the public at the 201o Paris Motor Show in September last year. It showcases an all-new shape featuring cool flowing lines and crisp details, in tune with Peugeot's latest design philosophy.
The Peugeot 508 will be available, initially, with two engines; a 2.0-litre HDi FAP engine producing 120kW and 340Nm of torque matched to a six-speed automatic gearbox and emitting just 149g of CO2 per kilometre, as well as a 2.2-litre HDi FAP unit producing 150kW and 450Nm of torque matched to a six-speed automatic gearbox, and emitting 150g of CO2 per kilometre.
Two additional engines will join the range later this year, including a 1.6-litre THP turbocharged petrol with 115kW and 240Nm, matched to a six-speed automatic gearbox, as well as a 1.6-litre e-HDi with 82kW and 270Nm, matched to an electronically-controlled six-speed manual gearbox, emitting just 115g of CO2 per kilometre.
