Peugeot 308 at Australian International Motor Show 2011

Peugeot has just unveiled the facelifted Peugeot 308 at the 2011 Australian International Motor Show in Melbourne. The car features a redesigned body and some revisions to the engine trim levels.

The new Peugeot 308 was first unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show earlier on in the year and features a revised front end with a new face. The bumper bars are also slightly more aggressive, showcasing a sharper more angled look on the front.

Under the bonnet, the new Peugeot 308 will be available with three different petrol engines and two diesel engine variants. There's a 1.4-litre VTi, a 1.6-litre VTi, and a 1.6-litre THP. For the diesels, there's two versions of 2.0-litre e-HDi FAP, one with a manual transmission and another with an electronically-controlled semi-automatic transmission.

Changes to the body include LED-encrusted side sections of the front bumper bar, a new wide-open grille and headlight layout and a sportier lower chin. The bonnet is also shaped more sharply compared with the current model.

The new Peugeot 308 is now on sale in Australia, with prices starting at $22,990.
