Next-gen Saab 9-3 convertible built in Sweden?

The current SAAB 9-3 range is produced in two different countries, the sedan and sportcombi (wagon) are built in Sweden, and the convertible is built in Germany. But but news today from German newspaper the Handelsblatt indicates that the entire range of the next-generation 9-3s will be produced in Sweden as oppose to Germany.

The changes come amid a rethink for the next-generation 9-3, it will be smaller and hence based on a smaller platform. This results in a potential shift away from the Vectra platform to GM's Delta platform.

Trollhatten in Sweden (the hometown of Saab) may therefore get back full production of the 9-3 range, which would make Saab fans happy. Given the uncertainty surrounding the cars production, the current 2009/10 release date has been delayed until 2011/12.
