Ryan Dunn from Jackass dies in Porsche 911 crash

Ryan Dunn, the man best known for practical jokes and committing himself to wild and crazy adventures on the DVD series Jackass, was involved in a fatal accident on Monday morning when the Porsche 911 GT3 he was driving slid off the road and into trees, bursting into flames.

Many of the official facts of the incident are still to be released, but so far reports suggest Dunn might have been under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident, which allegedly happened at high speed. An unidentified passenger in the car also died in the accident.

According to an early report by TMZ, the entire accident was thought to be a hoax, although that rumour has now subsided. Police have confirmed the body in the Porsche to be Ryan Dunn. Reports say he was badly burnt in the accident and police used his tattoos to identify him.

Dunn was allegedly drunk just before the accident, which occurred at 2:30am on Monday morning. Dunn apparently posted a photo of himself drinking with mates just before the accident. Witnesses said he "had had a lot to drunk".

Jackass colleague and friend of Dunn, Johnny Knoxville has tweeted: "Today I lost my brother Ryan Dunn. RIP Ryan, I love you buddy."

While MTV president Van Toffler, recently said:

"We are devastated by the tragic loss of Ryan Dunn - a beloved member of the MTV family for more than a decade.

“He made us all laugh and had the tireless enthusiastic approach to life of your favourite middle school friend. Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with Ryan's family and friends."
