Peugeot sending 3008 competition winner into space
If you have ever dreamed of blasting off into space, getting behind the wheel of a Peugeot 3008 may be your best chance.
Peugeot UK has become the first car manufacturer to offer space travel as a competition prize, with the Peugeot 3008 crossover vehicle at the centre of the brand’s unique ‘3008 Space Odyssey’ campaign.
The competition asks Britons to find 20 Peugeot 3008s hidden throughout London on the competition website. Finding one car gets you one entry, finding five gets you 20 entries, and finding all 20 gets you 100 entries in the competition, which will run throughout the European summer.
If playing a computer game isn’t quite your thing, you can also get 100 chances to win simply by test driving a Peugeot 3008 at a UK dealership.
Peugeot UK director of marketing, Morgan Lecoupeur, said the competition showed that Peugeot was committed to “boldly going where no other car manufacturer has gone before”.
“Incredibly it is 50 years since Yuri Gagarin made that historic first trip into space and who would have thought we at Peugeot would be giving someone the opportunity to follow in his footsteps,” Mr Lecoupeur said.
“Whoever wins could become one of just a handful of Britons who have ever ventured there.”
According to the terms and conditions, the winner will blast off sometime around 2016 and take part in a suborbital spaceflight.
Alternatively, the winner can accept £30,000 ($45,600), presumably if you have already been into space before.
