“Senna” Movie Release – 11 August

For those Formula One fans in Australia, and for those of you who would like to see one of the most inspirational and moving documentaries ever made, get ready for the documentary feature about the “Greatest Formula One driver that ever lived”, Aryton Senna, aptly titled Senna

The film has already opened in several markets to rave reviews, but the Universal Pictures release will open here on August 11.

If you’ve never seen Senna drive before, then take a look this lap at Jerez from 1990 before you click on the trailer below and you will be blown away by his supernatural intuition with the machines he drove.

The film spans his years as an F1 driver, from his opening season in 1984 to his untimely death some ten years later at age 34, during the San Marino Grand Prix.

“Senna” is much more than a film for racing fans. Ayrton Senna was a humble superstar from Brazil who inspired millions around the world with his astonishing will to win.

The film also highlights the on-track, off-track battles with fellow F1 pilot Alain Prost, and those were sometimes epic.

So too is the dislike between Senna and the ex FIA President, Jean-Marie Balestre exposed. Balestre once said, “The best decision is my decision”

Much of the footage used in the picture is previously unseen outside his immediate family, who gave their full support to the project’s director Asif kapadia, and writer, Manish Pandey.

CarAdvice will give away several free passes to “Senna” closer to the release date.

Stay tuned.
