Zagato TZ3 Stradale, Corsa revealed

In celebration of Alfa Romeo's 100th birthday, Italian design house and coachbuilder Zagato has announced it is producing two very limited edition models, called the Zagato TZ3 Stradale and the Zagato TZ3 Corsa. The former is based on the Dodge Viper ACR supercar, while the Corsa is based on the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione.

Both the Dodge Viper ACR and Alfa 8C already offer a sleek and low profile, and an excellent base for a world-class Italian design studio to improve upon. Zagato did this by peeling back the original body panels and replacing them with a bespoke set of carbon fibre contours. Zagato also incorporated its 'Kamm-tail' design into both of the rear ends.

From the front, there's obvious Alfa Romeo DNA in both models, particularly with the traditional triangular grille in the centre fascia. The cabin is then surrounded by a bubble-style glasshouse with curved windows that extend around from the side to the rear windscreen. The roofline showcases a traditional Zagato double-bubble surface as well on the Stradale version.

Under the bonnet of the Stradale sits the same 8.4-litre V10 as the Dodge Viper ACR, producing 450kW of power and a whopping 760Nm of torque. Acceleration times are yet to be recorded, but we assume it'll be ferociously quick in any acceleration test.

The TZ3 Corsa also features the same running gear as the Alfa 8C, with its 4.7-litre naturally-aspirated V8 producing 331kW of power and 480Nm of torque.

Zagato has announced nine of these special editions will be made, with three already sold. One of them has apparently gone to an American collector, while two other customers - one in Japan and one in Europe - are awaiting delivery.
