Video: Scion teases Toyota FT-86 version to debut at New York show

Toyota's funky North American automotive brand, Scion, has released a teaser preview of what appears to be a Scion version of the highly anticipated Toyota FT-86 sports coupe.

Although the company hasn't specified what the concept to be unveiled is exactly, the silhouette previewed in the video showcases a bonnet line and headlight shape distinctive to the FT-86.

Reports say Toyota will be selling the popular sports coupe as a Scion, and with this teaser it looks like the car in Scion form will be unveiled in full at the 2011 New York International Auto Show, starting late next week.

Confirmation of engine details are yet to be officially announced, however, what is known so far is that the FT-86 will be powered by a Subaru boxer engine of some kind powering the rear wheels. It'll also come with a six-speed manual transmission as standard.

Stay tuned for the full unveiling and plenty more New York Auto Show coverage over the next couple of weeks.
