Subaru XV Concept teased ahead of Auto Shanghai debut

A teaser image of the Subaru XV concept has been released ahead of the vehicle’s debut on April 19 at Auto Shanghai 2011.

Few details are known about the mysterious XV crossover concept, although it is likely to provide us with an insight into the design of the upcoming Subaru Impreza hatch.

Subaru says the XV concept “blends practicality with fashionable form, fun and comfort” and will feature the brand’s famous symmetrical all-wheel drive system for “genuine crossover ability”.

Subaru Australia currently sells a variant of the Impreza called the XV: a high-riding hatchback with a unique body kit designed to offer enhanced off-road ability and outdoor practicality. The teaser image reveals a vehicle with roof racks and flared wheel arches, suggesting it could be designed for a similar purpose.

Subaru Australia managing director, Nick Senior, said more information about the XV concept would be revealed at Shanghai next Tuesday, two days before the unveiling of the all-new Subaru Impreza at the 2011 New York International Auto Show on April 21.

CarAdvice will be reporting live from the New York show to bring you the news from the Subaru stand, as well as all the other unveilings. Stay tuned.
