BMW Z4 GT3
If your current Z4 road car doesn’t quite have the performance you were hoping for, then if you’ve got a lazy 315,000 euros lying around and want to take it up a notch or two, then a Z4 GT3 customer sports car is your cure.
This a car that’s already proven it’s steadfast reliability in endurance race conditions, with an outright win at this year’s Dubai 24 Hours.
The head snapping looks of the standard series production Z4 with it's long nose and short overhangs provided an ideal base for BMW Motorsport engineers to develop a hard charging GT3 sports racer, but you won’t find any six-cylinder TwinPower unit this bonnet.
A 4.4 litre eight-cylinder engine has replaced that with an ECU408 running the engine management, and the Power400 ECU controlling the actuators.
Power is fed to the rear wheels through a six-speed sequential transmission with paddle shifters for gear changes.
Although the car has a steel body, it is extremely rigid, as is the steel tubed safety cell, which is welded into the body. The V8 engine block is made in the BMW foundry in Landshut, Germany.
