Buick Envision Concept to be unveiled 2011 Auto Shanghai

Buick has released a teaser image of a new concept it plans to unveil at the upcoming 2011 Auto Shanghai show, which starts on April 18. Called the Buick Envision Concept, the car will be a sleek, smooth and sporty SUV.

The car was designed specifically for the Chinese market by the Pan Asia Technical Automotive Center (PATAC) and Shanghai GM. It promises to sample many elements of Chinese design throughout the body and interior layout.

Although the image doesn't show much detail, it's clear to see that the car (the back, at least) will be very futuristic, showcasing plenty of sharp-cut angles and details. The rear lights could almost be mistaken for a pair of front lights, with the frowning concave shape.

As for the powertrain details, Buick hasn't released any official information, but reports say the car will feature a plug-in hybrid engine matched to a four-wheel drive system. We'll provide more details upon its debut.
