Aston Martin has teamed up with Canadian luxury phone maker Mobiado to develop one of the coolest automotive-related gadgets we’ve ever come across.
The CPT002 Aston Martin Concept Phone is currently on display at BaselWorld, Switzerland’s watch and jewellery show, teasing a collection of collaborative pieces by the bespoke manufacturers ahead of an expected launch in May.
The CPT002 is made from a solid piece of transparent sapphire crystal. The battery, SIM card and electronics are all built in to the phone’s platinum sides. The capacitive touchscreen allows owners to access all Android icons like any other smartphone. But wait, there’s more.
The CPT002 also integrates with owners’ Aston Martin vehicles, with the ability to lock and unlock the doors, interact with the satellite navigation and wirelessly connect the vehicle with social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter.
Unfortunately, however, reports from BaselWorld suggest that Mobiado has no plans to put the CPT002 into production, at least in the short term.
