SEAT to build Audi Q3 in Spain
SEAT will build the new Audi Q3 in Spain thanks to an agreement signed by the Catalan government and the Spanish automotive brand.
Around 700 jobs will be created by the agreement, and 1200 staff in total will be trained in the Q3's production.
Josef Schelschshorn, SEAT’s Vice-president for Human Resources, said that SEAT's future was looking good, and it meant stable work for those looking for job prospects. "We offer the chance to get further qualifications as well as the prospect of working for SEAT one of the most important and attractive job creators in the country, on the basis of a long-term contract," said Mr Schelschshorn.
Before today, it was speculated that the Q3 would be built in Spain, however a press release from SEAT has confirmed the news.
The Audi Q3 is based on the Volkswagen Tiguan platform, so expect to see at least two petrol variants, with the ubiquitous 2.0-litre turbo, a possible 1.4-litre twin-charged engine, and a 2.0-litre diesel.
