Hyundai i40 Wagon confirmed for Australia

Despite earlier reports that the Hyundai i40 Wagon would not be making it to Australian shores, the Korean company has today confirmed the European-designed i40 will be part of its model range before the end of this year.

Hyundai says the i40, which was born out of the company's operations in Rüsselsheim, Germany, was benchmarked against rivals such as the Volkwagen Passat and Toyota Avensis during its development phase.

Hyundai’s senior manager of product planning, Roland Rivero, confirmed the model's introduction to the Australian market late this year and even went as far as to say that it would feature technology previously unseen in Hyundai models and other model in its class.

The Hyundai i40 will complement the i45 offering a wagon shape for those that need the extra practicality. It also differs from the i45 as its entire engineering process was undertaken in Europe.

The announcement is good news for Hyundai fans that have been eagerly anticipating the model's arrival in the Australian market.
