On top of the new 2011 Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 launch, a number of new models are expected to hit the market in the next few years. Company CEO, Stephen Winkelmann, has suggested to a number of automotive sources that the highly-anticipated Lamborghini Estoque four-door sedan is getting nearer to production. Definite confirmation or release dates are yet to be announced.
Another new model Lamborghini apparently getting ready to launch within the next few years is the Lamborghini Gallardo replacement. The Gallardo has been around now since 2003 so it's about time for a replacement. According to a recent Inside Line report, the company is planning a successor which has been nicknamed the Lamborghini Cabrera. Further speculation on details of the car are still in the shadows.
Lamborghini is also apparently working on releasing a road version of the dramatic carbon fibre Lamborghini Sesto Elemento concept first unveiled at the 2010 Paris Motor Show. The car is likely to feature a number of body revisions to suit various street regulations, however, the overall presence and proportions of the car are still expected to exist.
A Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 Roadster is also on the cards and is expected to hit the market sometime next year. As for the models above, predicted release dates from various international reports are as follows:
- Lamborghini Sesto Elemento - 2012
- Lamborghini Gallardo replacement (Cabrera) - 2013
- Lamborghini Estoque - 2014
Volkswagen has reportedly expressed that it will also continue funding and developing the Lamborghini brand well into the future, and will share some of its platforms for upcoming Lamborghini models. Shared platforms include the new Porsche Panamera MSB platform which will also be used on upcoming Bentley and Audi A8 models.
