2012 Mercedes-Benz A-Class sketch leaked

Mercedes-Benz is set to unveil the all-new 2012 Mercedes-Benz A-Class at the upcoming 2011 Shanghai Auto Show in April this year. Recent international reports say this sketch, apparently leaked online, resembles what the car will look like.

If this sketch is anything to go by, the next A-Class will be quite a good-looking car. It features design lines that are very unlike the outgoing A-Class MPV-like shape. The new model looks low and sleek, showcasing a swooping roofline and a sharp side window profile.

The sketch also features some F800 Concept design elements, including the arrow-head headlights, arched sill panels and pronounced nose and grille area. It also presents a high waistline similar to other models in the current 2011 Mercedes-Benz line-up.

Powerplants for the new model are yet to be confirmed, however, a number of small petrol and turbocharged diesel engines are likely to make their way into the range, as well as a 239kW AMG version which is expected to launch sometime after the normal models.

Reports say the 2012 Mercedes-Benz A-Class will go on sale in international markets later this year.
