The idea is to create a new sub-brand for the German giant to showcase its sustainable motoring.

Sources suggest the BMW i3's electric motors are set to generate around 96-100kW.

BMW says the i3 is an example of purpose design, as in, a vehicle which has been created from a completely new perspective.

The BMW i3 is based on the megacity concept and makes use of lightweight material such as carbon fiber reinforced plastic and natural materials for the interior.
