Audi TT RS Plus coming with power hike: rumour

Rumours have spiked on the web saying that Audi is thinking about developing an Audi TT RS Plus. The version is speculated to offer 265kW of power over the standard 250kW currently on tap for the TT RS.

Although the plans are kind of sketchy at this stage, this claimed-to-be Audi in-house catalogue - Ersatz Teile Katalog Audi (ETKA) - recently leaked onto the net sure is convincing.

The catalogue was published on German Audi website, www.qarsi.de, and clearly displays a number of 'Audi TT RS Plus' variants that are rated at 265kW. By the looks of it, the engine will remain as the same 2.5-litre, five-cylinder turbocharged unit as the standard TT RS.

Reports also say that the model could also be a special edition like the Audi R8 GT and come fitted with various lightweight parts, such as carbon fibre wings and panel trimmings. But that might be taking the dream a little too far.

Rumour has it the model is expected go on sale initially in European markets in May (as per the catalogue above; model year, right-hand column). We'll have to wait and see to know for sure though. Stay tuned.
