Mazda Minagi concept uses KODO design language

Mazda has shown its new MINAGI concept for the first time at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, and with it the global debut of its new KODO design language.

KODO, which means "Soul of Motion" was first seen on the Shinari concept and with the Minagi has been combined with SKYACTIV technologies to produce this stunner. Mazda says the design "evokes a powerful and emotive sense of pent-up energy and vitality", and makes it stand out in our ever growing suburbia.

Expect this design to feature strongly in the next generation of Mazda products, as Mazda says that it is what the company represents - a brand new era of Mazda shapes.

More a showcase of design than a technical marvel, Mazda says that the Minagi concept is equipped with a SKYACTIV engine and SKYACTIV transmission fitted to a SKYACTIV body and chassis. That means it's light weight, but still strong and efficient.

If you want to buy the Minagi, then take heart. Jeff Guyton, Head of Mazda Europe announced at Mazda’s press conference in Geneva that a production version of this car will debut in Frankfurt.
