2011 Range Rover Autobiography Ultimate Edition Geneva preview

Range Rover has revealed details of a new special edition off-road vehicle it plans to unveil at this year's Geneva Motor Show in March. It's the Range Rover Autobiography Ultimate Edition.

Promising to showcase the pinnacle in luxurious motoring, the Ultimate Edition is set to be the most expensive Range Rover in the line-up. Most of the Ultimate's revisions are found inside the car, where it is draped, encrusted and swathed in the finest materials to ever appear in motor vehicles.

The rear luggage compartment is lined with yacht-inspired teak decking, while loads of handcrafted natural leather is blanketed over the rest of the cabin, including the dash, seats and door trims.  Wood and machined aluminium are also used for various trimming inserts throughout the interior.

In the back, the three-man bench seat has been replaced by two single electronically adjustable seats. The rear passengers also get their own iPad hinged onto the back of the front seats.

Powering the Range Rover Ultimate Edition is a choice of either diesel- or petrol-powered engines: a 4.4-litre LR-TDV8 or a grunty 5.0-litre LR-V8 supercharged unit. These engines offer 230kW/700Nm and 375kW/625Nm respectively.

It is, quintessentially, the ultimate Range Rover, offering exquisite motoring blended with off-road capability.
