2011 Mazda MX-5 Special Edition limited to 200 in Australia

Mazda Australia has announced the availability of the 2011 Mazda MX-5 Special Edition, with the exclusive run limited to just 200 vehicles for local customers.

With a manufacturer’s list price of $47,200, the MX-5 Special Edition comes at the price of the standard six-speed manual MX-5 Roadster Coupe and scores a number of mechanical and visual enhancements.

Handling is improved through the use of Bilstein-tuned suspension, while the strut tower bar is finished in brightly coloured paint.

Also fitted are painted 17-inch alloy wheels, which are contrasted with two new colours: Dolphin Grey Mica and Sparkling Black Mica. Aluminium Metallic is also available.

Inside, the MX-5 Special Edition features grey leather seats and a leather-wrapped steering wheel and handbrake both highlighted by matching grey stitching.

Chrome air vent bezels and meter rings complete the Special Edition upgrades.

Mazda Australia marketing manager, Alastair Doak, said the Special Edition model was a fitting way for Mazda to celebrate the production of the 900,000th Mazda MX-5.

“The Mazda MX-5 is an iconic car with enthusiasts across the world making it the best-selling two-seater roadster of all time,” Mr Doak said.

“Offering a limited number of MX-5 Special Editions to Australian consumers will ensure it appeals to the enthusiasts out there who are seeking something a little different.”
