2011 Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 teaser image

Lamborghini has released a teaser image of its upcoming new supercar, the Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4. Dressed in typical disorienting pre-production paintwork, this is the first image of the car that reveals the body's true contours and overall face layout.

Only showing us the front of the car, Lamborghini is happy to reveal that the new Lamborghini Aventador will feature a front bumper bar and nose design very similar to the limited edition Lamborghini Reveton we first saw at the Frankfurt Motor Show back in 2007. With a pointy lower chin and angled side scoops in the front corner of the bumper bar, the new Aventador looks mighty aggressive.

As previously reported, the new Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 will be powered by an all-new 6.5-litre V12 outputting, as the name suggests, 700hp (520kW) and 690Nm of torque. Built using exotic lightweight materials and to the optimum size/efficiency ratio (according to Lamborghini, anyway), the new engine will have a redline of 8250rpm.

The car will be unveiled in full detail at the Geneva Motor Show in just a few weeks on March 1, so unless Lamborghini chooses to release some more teaser shots of the Aventador in the near future, this is likely as much as we'll see for now. We'll keep you informed.
