2011 Volkswagen Touareg R-Line
Volkswagen has released some details of the upcoming Volkswagen Touareg R-Line. The new sporty four-wheel drive will feature a number of visual and physical upgrades to rival the likes of the BMW X5 M and the Mercedes-Benz ML 63 AMG.
Firstly, the big R-Line Touareg will get a new sporty bodykit including an aggressive front bumper bar and grille layout, as well as side skirts and an equally enthusiastic rear bumper bar and roof spoiler.
The R-Line also gets a new 20-inch alloy wheel design connected to a revised suspension system that Volkswagen says is more inclined to support sporty driving.
R-Line enhancements also make their way into the interior. With a new stainless steel sill plate greeting upon door opening, there's also a new sports steering wheel, aluminium gear lever and pedals and loads of leather. The seats are also more supportive and feature electronic 12-way adjustment at the touch of a button.
Volkswagen is yet to confirm if any engine performance upgrades will be on offer in the Volkswagen Touareg R-Line package. Some people have speculated that a 336kW V8 borrowed from Audi will make its way under the bonnet.
