BMW M3 fatal accident in Palm Beach County, US

A 29-year-old man died on Monday after he lost control of his BMW M3 in West Palm Beach, Wellington, US. Police investigators say the man left Player's Club Bar and proceeded to negotiate an upcoming bend but lost control of his vehicle, which then slid sideways up the gutter and into a tree.

According to The Palm Beach Post, police say alcohol and speed were contributing factors in the accident that took the man's life. It's unknown how fast the 309kW car was travelling at the time. The car split in half on impact with the tree, flinging the driver from the car and onto the ground. Police say the man was wearing his seatbelt at the time, but it seems the sheer force was too overwhelming.

Even in a $160,000-plus luxury coupe, the lethal combination of excess speed for the area and alcohol can result in savage consequences. It should be taken as a reminded for all motorist to please take care on the roads over the Australia Day holiday period.
