the Range Rover Evoque is put through its paces on the open road

Okay, seldom am I critical but I would hardly call this a video review… If the Evoque isn’t here yet and we don’t have video of CA actually driving it, putting it through it’s paces etc then this is little more than a nicely edited video of stock marketing footage with a voice over.
Just what I was thinking, poor decision CA…
I think this video is CA answer for the super imposed Chinese Officials road inspection pictures…
G’day Joker, Alex and Al,
I understand how you might assume that, however I can assure CarAdvice has driven the vehicle in Europe. We attended the international launch alongside leading automotive journalists from around the world, and participated fully in the media drive program. Anthony Crawford drove the car, and the footage you see here was shot during the launch Anthony attended. There is also some development footage in the package.
Although Anthony’s voice is not on the video (he is currently in Frankfurt at the Motor Show and then flying to the USA for another story) you’ll note the comments are completely in line with his review. (I’ve put a link to the review in the post above so you can decide for yourselves whether this is true. In fact, we post a news story every time a new video goes up, but the main place for it to sit is in the existing written review, and of course in the video channel itself.)
The international launch footage was pretty good, and I thought there was more value in putting it up so you can see moving pictures of the car as soon as possible, before it even gets to Australia.
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed looking at the vehicle. Doing it this way was the only way we could deliver you the vision as well as the standard written review with still images.
Best regards and thanks for raising this concern with us.
Thanks for taking the time to reply.. I get where you’re coming from too. It just took me back to another automotive review I saw (on another major motoring website)where they said they had an exclusive test on the Ecoboost Falcon.. Turned out, they just loaded up an Ecoboost Mondeo to be the same weight as the Falcon and tried to tell us that would be accurate. Ultimately, they got a click or two from us but I won’t visit that site again. It feels like they
I guess I felt the title was misleading. That said, you guys have done a lot for the Australian Automotive Journalism landscape in terms of relevant car tests and information.. keep up the good work and please PLEASE get one of the guys behind the wheel of an Evoque with a Camera man in tail come November!
Sorry, bottom of first paragraph was meant to say, it felt like they were just after our click for the stats.
We’ll definitely get a local video review up as soon as we can.
Thanks for taking such an active interest in CarAdvice. Critical feedback like yours is very important for us in fine-tuning what we do.
Unlike your other experience I can assure you we won’t ever try to mislead our audience with an empty promise aimed at short-term gain.
Range rover is my Dream car.I can drive and goes near montains. It will never let me down.
