Car Advice

The Cruze has kicked a real goal for Holden. It's the company's number two seller, and the number four small car behind the Mazda 3, Toyota Corolla, Hyundai i30. It's available with a four cylinder, 1.8 liter petrol engine or a 2 liter diesel and priced between just over twenty grand and just under thirty.

It'll even soon be built here, in Australia. To find out more, I'm joined in the by CarAdvice road tester Anthony Crawford. Tony this is one of the most classy Korean built cars I've ever driven. What do you think? I'm a big fan of the Holden cruise and I'll tell you why. This is probably the most European feeling holding that they've ever built.

Behind the wheel is Will's no cabin noise at all when you're cruising along on the highway. That's unusual. It's a small car, it's in the small car category, but it's not really small is it? it's not small, and in fact it's big enough for my family of four, with two kids, two teenagers. And they're not nasty anymore, small cars, either.

They've got lots of fruit, haven't they, and they're pretty you have tons of fruit in the Holden Cruze. The whole design of the front fascia is really modern. Lots of faux metal accent; not too many though. we get a really really nice car inside. How is the ride as a driver? Look there is a no body roll i mean what car manufacturing are doing include Hauldin a dialing out body roll.

No one in Australia seems to like a car lurching to the side when it turns a corner, and the Holden Cruze makes a very good job of not doing it. So they have sorted suspension well. Compliance over bumps is brilliant, as good as any of the European competition. At double the price so i think all you know the Holden Cruze office is the incredible value for the money package for the any family and looks good too.

If you're in the market for a Cruze, what else would you have on your short list before you made the decision? The Hyundai i30 is a must. The Ford Focus another must. the Toyota Corolla. These are all competent, well-sorted cars, well-kitted cars, lots of stuff inside. I'd go the Cruze diesel because I don't I think there's anything that quite matches the quality inside that car.

The seats are incredibly well bolstered. You're not flopping around when your turning into... I think that's a plus. My thing with a diesel is that most people don't realize the benefits of all that torque up front so they're just thinking of diesel as a cost saving or a fuel saving benefit, when in fact, the drivability of a diesel is worth more to me than the petrol saving.

Thanks Anthony. So it looks like the diesel Cruze manual speak the better to read the four review download specifications add your comments and will get the cloth from the Holden dealer just follow the links on his page.
