French cars are hugely popular in Europe but for some reason they fly under the radar in Australia. the Peugeot RCZ is something very different from the French brand. Not something we've really seen from them. It's a very sexy looking coupe and an obvious rival for the Audi TT. starting as a critical factor for coupe buyers, and just look what the RCZ offers?

Distinctive roof-line arches that are made of aluminium. And then there's that really striking double bubble roof. You have a choice of either a turbo petrol or or a turbo diesel engine with the RCZ. And unusually, both are priced in the mid 50,000s either way that undercuts the Audi TT by several thousand dollars.

I don't think there's really a great deal of difference between the Audi TT and the Peugeot RCZ is just really good value for the French car. Tt handles and stays very nicely the ride is jiggly which is a bit of disappointment. but all around this is the most exciting Peugeot you can buy right now.

The diesel engine naturally gives you better fuel efficiency however, it's a bit of a strange match for a coupe. so our pick would certainly be the Turbo petrol model. It's strong and flexible and really fits in with the RCZs nature coupes are really practical and the RCZ is no different in this respect.

If you're looking to fit your family in it, forget it. The backseat really is for small kids most or a couple of bags. It is common to find ergonomic glitches in French cars compared to Japanese or European rivals. And certainly in the RCZ The pedals are slightly offset and the driving position, not quite perfect for all drivers.

The Audi TT is a little bit more comfortable and the driving position, a little bit better but the question is it worth paying several thousand dollars extra? The TT isn't your only alternative to the Peugeot RCZ. You can look at new mini Cooper and there is also a BMW 1 Series Coupe
