The R8 is Audi's very first super car. It's been around a few years now, but for me, it still remains probably the most convincing model. The R8 is an absolutely terrific drive. Really thrilling dynamics. A choice of 2 engines, you can have a 4.2 liter V8. Now that delivers sufficiently good performance, but it's very tempting to pay about 80,000 dollars more and go for a 5.2 meter V10, and that delivers exceptional performance.
There are a number of links with Lamborghini Gallardo. The car itself is based on the Gallardo underpinnings, and that V10 is a detuned version of the Gallardo's own V10 Not as wild as the experience in the Lamborghini but you're really not going to be disappointed in the Audi. As a super car, inevitability, practicality It's pretty, it's not like a strong point for the car.
But, you know, it's only two seats. But, it's surprisingly easy to live with on a daily basis. I think probably the most surprising aspect of the R8 is the ride comfort. Really quite exceptional for a super car. I think what we've seen in recent years is that a lot of the Italian super cars lack a bit on the quality and even the Lamborghini and what we're seeing with the Audi is they bring it interior quality and performance refinement to that super car market.
Would you ever take driving a super car for granted? Certainly not. And when you get into the Audi R8 it kinda lives up to the hype It lives up to expectations what a super car's going to deliver. It's got the drive train refinement. It's got strong performance - particularly with the V-10 - and also the dynamics.
The way it goes around corners, the way it grips. It's excellent and very thrilling. For the same money I say the entry level VA R8. You can get yourself a Porsche nine eleven which will appeal to a lot of people. I think you're going to be in the market either for super car or you are not because for that same money you can also get much more practical high performance sedans such as the BMW N5 and the Mercedes Benz E-63 AMG.
The Porche 9-11 is far more common on the road than an Audi R-8, and that's a bit of a negative, but the thing about the 9-11 it's still ultimately, when it's trying to bond the driver and the car, there is nothing like a Porsche to do that. You might think that owning a super car like the R8, is a novelty that would wear off.
not for just a few months, but as I said this is a car that has been out for a few years now. When I jump back in it, now and again, it is still a car that gives me a thrill and a car well, I wish I had the money to buy it
