Toyota HiLux Owner Car Reviews

2006 Toyota HiLux SR5 Review

The high-spec SR5 looks staunch with big roll bars and chrome trim. Mine's in silver. It's a big truck, and handles like a truck! I love the simplicity of my 2006 model. There are no chimes or annoying bells, and the quiet engine is very easy to work on and maintain. I don't like the plastic headlights, but I'll upgrade these to LED soon...

2002 Toyota HiLux SR5 (4x4) Review

When I see advertisements of the latest dual-cab utes (that's 'trucks' to Holden and Ford ad gurus), I take it as fact that if you don't tow a jetski/skidsteer/bull to market at least every weekend, you might as well hand in your man license and let your mum tow 3.5 ton on your behalf...

2013 Toyota HiLux Workmate Review

2013 Toyota Hilux TGN16R 2.7 Litre five speed manual transmission single cab chassis August 18, 2016. A three year old vehicle.... The Bad Bits, I generously rate the (expletive deleted) manual gearbox with a score of 2/10 for overall performance. It is often hard / very hard to downshift, it is sticky and is very easy to grate, grind or crunch gears on normal upshifts or downshifts...

2016 Toyota HiLux SR (4x4) Review

I have had my 2016 HiLux for over a month and I do like it. I tow a 1.7 tonne trailer most of the time and it handles great. The power, the steering and the breaks are great and such a nice ride. Like the old HiLux it has lots of drink holders, which is a big tick for me but not much cabin storage like behind the rear seats, this needs to change...

2016 Toyota HiLux SR (4x4) Review

I received my new HiLux 2000km ago as a new work ute replacing a 2013 Colorado. First impressions are good. It has zero turbo lag, excellent fuel economy (best 8.7 L/100 avg 9.6/100), Excellent blue tooth, easy to drive and very little road noise. The average stuff Power button is a joke, all it does is make the accelerator so sensitive it makes it jerky to drive...

2016 Toyota HiLux SR5 (4x4) Review

After driving a toyota hiace van for many years, last year I purchased a 2015 HiLux SR5 double cab pick up purely on the fact that my Hiace had got me to work, "whether I liked it or not" reliably for 15 years. Even after reading many reviews that put it out to pasture, I chose the HiLux...

2013 Toyota HiLux SR5 Review

We have recently returned home after touring parts of western Qld NT and WA a total of approx. 14000 klms towing a caravan, this included over 700 klms of dirt on the gibb river road in WA, we cannot speak to highly of the performance of our HI-Lux which handled all conditions without fuss proving beyond doubt that we had chosen the right vehicle for the job, both engine and 4 speed auto gearbox [ transmission cooler fitted ] performed extremely well with no issues all the way...

2014 Toyota HiLux SR5 Review

THE SO CALLED LEATHER STEERING WHEEL on a Unbreakable toyota hilux SR5 was rubbing off after 6 months and all most 5000km, the bloody thing is still making my hands black and sticky from driving it , a brand new car! Not to mention dangerous from concentrating on the steering wheel more then the road, went back to the dealer and was told that the warranty was denied from toyota Australia due to wear and tear (out side influences) they told him...

2014 Toyota HiLux SR5 Review

Bought the top of the range sr5 (blue) in March 2014. Extras were: leather seats, nudge bar, tub liner, soft bungee type tourneau cover and floor mats. I have issues with this vehicle which is really annoying as i bought this car to keep for a long time. When I got the vehicle home I first noticed the front passenger door does not line up which I could live with...

2012 TOYOTA HILUX WORKMATE Review

All in all it's a good ute but 0 to 100 time is about 25 sec and it has not a lot of clearance. It is tough but I would like more still and a lot less plastic.
