US car sales show positive trend

General Motors Corporation in the United States has said it burned through US$10.2 billion in cash and posted a net loss of US$6 billion in the first quarter of 2009.

Bankrupt Chrysler merges with Fiat; no effect on Aust operations

The United States third largest carmaker, Chrysler LLC, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and announced that it will enter into an immediate alliance with Italian carmaker Fiat SpA.
