Driving a diesel performance car isn’t the same as driving a petrol one. It’s not better, nor worse. Just different.

Audi has today unleashed the hottest version of its TT range on Australian soil, the RS coupe – a 250kW turbocharged rocket.
A completely new five-cylinder engine mated to a six-speed manual transmission cranks out 450Nm of torque (100Nm more than the TTS), propelling it from 0-100km/h in just 4.6 seconds, wiping a massive 1.4secs off [...]
German importer Audi has launched on the Australian market, what it says is, the first series-production sports car in the world to be powered by a diesel engine.
The company says pure sportiness and compelling performance, combined with sensational efficiency is the best description of its newest TT model to arrive Down Under.
Following its global debut at the Geneva Motor Show, Audi has released the full specifications for its flagship TT RS coupe and cabriolet models.
On paper at least, the TT RS undoubtedly sheds its ‘hairdresser’ stereotype as a genuinely aggressive thoroughbred performance coupe.
The Audi TT range has gained a new flagship with the brand officially unveiling its new TT RS Coupe and Cabriolet, both set to make their first public debut at the Geneva motor show.
Both variants are powered by a direct-injection 2.5-litre turbocharged inline five-cylinder engine which produces over 220kw of power and 450Nm.
Audi is developing an even hotter version of its TT coupe which is set to take on the performance flagship RS designation.
Spotted here at the Nurburgring, the Audi TT-RS promises to be a real alternative to the Porsche Cayman.
Work is under way to develop the hottest ever version of Ingolstadt’s sports coupe, likely to be badged TT RS. It promises to be a real alternative to the Porsche Cayman when it goes on sale in late 2008 in Europe (Australian release date still uncertain).
The TT RS will use a 2.5-litre in-line five-cylinder petrol [...]

Loosely based on the TT Clubsport concept, the Audi TT Speedster represents the TT in its purist driving form.
Drawing inspiration from the classic drop-top, the TT Speedster features a pillar-less low-slung panoramic windscreen and roll-over bars which protrude no higher than the sports bucket seats to retain its low stance.

Reports from Europe suggest Audi is working on a high-performance version of their ever popular Audi TT. Although the current range includes a 3.2-litre V6 Quattro All-Wheel-Drive variant (using the same engine as the last generation Golf R32), Audi is hoping for more with the new killer TT (to be named TT-R).
As for the [...]
It has been a big week for Audi Australia, the shipment of the new Audi S3 didn’t come alone, along with it, came the new Audi TT Roadster.
CarAdvice got to drive the 2.0-litre Audi TT earlier this year, and while the hard top was in it self an absolute marvel of a car, we think [...]
Audi are at it again, with the aim of creating more and more cars, the new Audi TT Clubsport Quattro concept car will go on public display at the 26th Wörthersee tuner show starting today in Austria.
Audi says they have used Porsche (which own a chunk Volkswagen & Audi) as an inspiration for this concept. [...]
I’m not normally an attention seeker – in fact – I try and steer clear of attention wherever possible. This is of course before I drove around in Audi’s new TT. Ten minutes wouldn’t pass before a group of punters would almost trip over themselves to get a gawk at Audi’s sexy new coupe.
It didn’t [...]

I could only imagine the smiles on the Audi managers faces when Audi won Le Mans with the Diesel Powered R-10, and then raced the R-10 against a Harrier Jet fighter for 1km and lost in the last dying seconds, sure they lost, but here we have a Diesel powered car taking on a Jet [...]
An update on a previous post about the 2007 Audi TT. The TT has now gone into full scale production. Audi has invested an approximate 230 million euro to upgrade its manufacturing plants for the production of the new TT. The Audi is assembled in two different locations, the bodywork and paint are done [...]
Finally! We are getting a new Audi TT. The old one looked so amazing that Audi have been selling them (with minor updates) since 1999. Current Australian prices range from $64,000 for the S line coupe to $95,000 for the Quattro Coupe with a power range of 120KW to 184KW respectively. The new model doesn’t [...]
