2016 Kia Sorento Platinum (4×4) Review
Having worked for Audi for eight years, it was the biggest surprise to find just how much I love this car. It feels like an Audi on the inside and drives so well.
- Quality interior
- solid build
- options as standard
- size, price
- Tow ball weight
I looked at ALL vehicles in the market and I do mean all. This car could have been $10,000 more and it would still represent better value than its competitors.
Yes, the tow ball rating is a big down-side, but there is too much value to ignore our main family car. We can tow with something else when the need arises.
The warranty/service/roadside program is a huge benefit over ALL competitors.
Kluger: Made in US, no diesel and high price.
Pathfinder: CVT, boring drive and no diesel.
Outlander: Too small, poor quality and Mitsi bad smell.
Discovery Sport: Price and poor quality.
Pajero Sport: Not refined and not true seven seats.
Santa Fe: Interior poor and rear seats are an afterthought.
Prado: Too big and plain for city car, plus price too high to get optioned up.
Fortuner: Just joking.
Territory: 10 years ago it would have been worth a look.
CX-9: Liked it, but liked diesel and seven-year warranty more.
Every car mentioned above I drove and researched (yes, I had time on my hands).
But in the end, I just love the look and feel of this car. Anyone that has discovered how good the Sorento is feel like they are in a secret group that 'know'.
I have owned it for 14,000km now and have never changed my opinion on how good the car is or how happy the family is in our day-to-day lives using it.
