2014 Foton Tunland (4×4) Review
I purchased my tunland 4x4 single cab in October and have traveled just over 4 thousand kilometers in it.it has a big roomy cab and comfortable driving position with standard features on par with utes worth thousands more.
- cummins isf 2.8 turbo diesel goes., excellent ground clearance, fuel economy, strong driveline
- rear view mirror at night, some turbo lag, 2.5t towing
I did have some problems with the electronic accelerator having flat spots and hesitation until the service department got it sorted.it does suffer some turbo lag initially but what new turbo diesel doesn't. I have fitted a 2inch suspension lift kit,16inch alloy wheels with 265/75r16 tyres and steel bullbar so there is good accessories available for these new Chinese utes .
I've driven from cairns to Townsville and back and out west to Georgetown with the ute performing great.if I had to pick it's most annoying thing it would be the interior rear view mirror at night.it reflects from the dash and can be hard to see whats behind.
Overall it's a great ute that's worth the 25 thousand dollar price tag and can't wait to load it up and tow the boat bush in comfort and style.
Cummins make great engines and the tunlands ISF 2.8 turbo diesel is a gem.....and who could get sick of the sweet sound of that turbo whistle. I find the 5 speed manual box loves to be raced but am not convinced on the clutch action, too much free play and a bit light.
I would like to see foton australia supply more genuine accessories for these utes like a snorkel and offer capped price servicing. All up I'm happy I brought the tunland and saved over 10 grand compared with the well-known brands available.
