I am 62 yrs old and have always wanted a 300 so after retiring I went out and bought a 300 SRT Core new. I have done over 26,000klms thus far and have loved every minute of it. The five speed auto is dated and can clunk at times.

The ride in the Core version is harsh but you get used to it as it is not adjustable. I have the cherry red colour and it is amazing in the sun and have lost count of the number of people who come up and comment on the colour.

The audio system is easy to operate and with only six speakers in the Core it is more than adequate. I spent $1900 and had the daggy cloth seats upgraded into red and black leather and it looks a million dollars.

The seats are very comfortable and supportive. No rear camera on this model so I spent $1000 and had one installed after-market. These cameras should be standard. The build quality is not quite perfect. The boot is large and with drop down rear seats there is more than plenty of space.

As with most cars these days, three people in the back seat can be a bit uncomfortable for the one in the middle. Mileage varies between 8.7 on highway run to around 12.9 in the city. Obviously much higher if you push it.

Tends to attract people in V8 Commodores at lights unfortunately. Service costs are fixed but quite high. Reasonably quiet on the highway but the Goodyear Eagle 245/45R tyres are starting to wear and are now droning.
