The 1999 Daewoo Lanos is a cheap inner city run around but that’s about as good as it gets. It struggles to make it up even the slightest incline and sometimes struggles off the mark. There is a common problem with the heater core and the hoses needed to be re-routed to prevent it from leaking into the car. The clutch did not make it past 140,000kms and the radiator is on its way out too, even though it has been regularly serviced and maintained its whole life. The window winder mechanics have come detached twice. The interior and the boot are very roomy for a small car but as far as wanting a small cheap car to run, I will now stay away from the Lanos and go for something more trusted of the same age and size like a Mazda or Toyota.
