Full Throttle in an Aston Martin DBS

The final leg of our European supercar odyssey took us to Gaydon in England, the home of Aston Martin.

CarAdvice was the first Australian publication to drive James Bond’s new car and although you’ll have to wait for the full video and written review, let’s just say, it’s the best Aston yet.

A gorgeous Italian morning was the introduction to two of the best driving days on offer from a set of Lamborghini’s finest twins.

After arriving at Lamborghini’s headquarters at Sant’Agata Bolognese, we were handed the keys to the Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder and the new Gallardo Superleggera.

After one full day behind the wheel of the world’s fastest production car, we are still at a loss for words – there is nothing that can be said that synonymises the experience.

Introducing a boot full of throttle sends your mind into a static haze. It’s hard to remember the time frame between nailing it and backing off. The torque is so extreme that the Hard Disk driven video camera stopped momentarily while the Veyron pumped out its full complement of horsepower.

Day one of the Car Advice supercar odyssey began with an official tour of the Bugatti factory and a quick drive.

There is much to say here and we will get to that in detail when we get back, but there is nothing more unbelievable than seeing and walking around the factory that makes the world’s best, fastest and most expensive car.

Well guys, here we are, Sydney international airport, 30 minutes to go and I have to stay, the feeling is surreal.

I wish I could convey it to you in better words, but we are sitting here sipping on cold Mexican beers and trying to comprehend the fact that soon, we will have the keys to five of the world’s best supercars, worth a total of over 6 million dollars.

Full Throttle in Europe - A Supercar Odyssey - Introduction

It’s 8:30 in the morning and I am sitting at Brisbane’s domestic airport waiting for my flight to Sydney. Nothing unusual about that, except that this time I am not just flying down to drive a Murcielago LP640 or an Aston, no, this time, we are going overseas.

I am not good with secrets, so it’s been extremely hard keeping my mouth shut about our overseas trip. After months and months of begging, fighting and planning, I can now confirm for you - our loyal readers - that CarAdvice is on its way to Europe to drive the world’s best, fastest and most expensive supercars.
