2009 Subaru Impreza WRX first details

*21/07/08 Update* Subaru Australia says details of the MY09 model are still unconfirmed whilst talks are still progressing with Japan. Currently no definite timeline for an official announcement.

Japanese AWD expert Subaru is about to get serious with the WRX again, if a leaked memo posted on the North American Subaru Impreza Owners Club (NOSIAC) forums is genuine.

  According to the memo there will be a whole list of additional features for the WRX, including a new model (called Impreza GT) as well as a power boost for the manual WRX.

Subaru’s design philosophy has run awry recently, and its latest model offers no relief, having today officially revealed its new mid-sized people carrier - the Exiga.

2008 Subaru Liberty GT tuned by STI

Subaru has announced a new range of tuned by STi GT Libertys available now. The MY08 Liberty GT tuned by STI is based on the standard Liberty GT but the boys at Subaru Tecnica International (STi) have had their way with it.

STi’s work is evident all around, firstly the performance figures. Power is up by 10 kW to 194 kW (at 6000 rpm) over the standard GT and torque hits 350 Nm at 2800 rpm up from 339 Nm. The special edition model also features STI suspension upgrades and interior treatments.
