It’s 5:30pm on a Friday afternoon and I get a call on my mobile.

“Hey Karl, what are you up to?”

“Oh, anything and everything,” was my reply.

“It’s Friday afternoon, mate, you can’t pull that one on me.” Steve Jones is a perceptive young man.

“I was just talking about life in general mate. It’s been pretty busy, lately”, I said. Little did I know, it was about to get even busier.

“Aren’t we all”, said Jones. Continuing with barely a pause for thought, he lets go of the big one. “So, I hear you’d like to drive a GT-R.”

Nissan Mixim concept 2008 AIMS

Nissan’s Mixim looks like no other small city car. The dramatic swept-back wraparound windscreen is the dominant feature, inspired by a crash helmet’s visor. The flowing roofline finishes at a sharply truncated rear hatch. Large scissor-hinged doors encroach into the roof making access easy.

Behind the F1-style, centrally mounted driver’s seat are two passenger seats, while a further occasional seat is slotted in behind in the spacious luggage area. The driver’s seat can move aside to aid passengers’ entry and exit.

CarAdvice does the Deni Ute Muster

This weekend saw Deniliquin, situated in the Southern Riverina region of NSW, host the annual “Play on the Plains Festival & World Record Ute Muster”.

What is perhaps the most unique and quintessentially Australian event on the CarAdvice calendar, we couldn’t turn up in anything less than one of Australia’s finest.

Now given this was a Holden sponsored event, we thought we’d throw a cat among the pigeons and arrive front and centre compliments of FPV’s stonking new F6 Ute, which turned quite a few heads in CarAdvice livery (we thought it looked pretty specky too).

Nissan’s aging 350Z will soon be superseded with the new 370Z. If you’re wondering, 370 does indeed represent a 3.7-litre engine in the new sports cars.

Nissan 370z

Much to the anticipation of Nissan fans everywhere, the new 370Z will launch at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November. This time however, with the GT-R under its belt, Nissan has higher ambitions, expecting to position the new two-seater as more of a pure sports car (e.g. Porsche).

Nissan to launch new Financial Services Business

It seems that in spite of the global credit squeeze, sub-prime mortgage crashes and the ever rising cost of living, Nissan still has enough to go around with the announcement today that the firm will open a financial services arm in mid-October.
