Lexus has unveiled its LF-Xh hybrid SUV concept and lifted the lid off its IS 250 with a new convertible model straight from the Paris Show.

The all-wheel drive LF-Xh features a V6 petrol engine mated to an electric hybrid drive system.

As flagship of the Lexus range this fourth generation LS should have the German big boys shaking in their lederhosen. It’s considerably cheaper, is similarly well appointed, and offers all the technical refinements and precision engineering expected from a car of such lofty status. But is it really a comparable and credible competitor to the well respected Bavarian marques, or is it simply a sheep in wolf’s clothing.

The Nissan GT-R killer is still in the works, according to a Lexus source, the company will not release the car until it can beat the GT-R’s time around the Nurburgring, which should provide an excellent competitive edge between the two cars.
