Hyundai unveils its first direct-injection petrol engine

Hyundai has unveiled its first ever petrol-powered direct injection engine.

Known as the Theta II GDI, the 2.4-litre 4-cylinder unit is the product of 46 months of research and development and expenses of more than 170 billion won (AUD$160 million).

Renault-Nissan CEO, Carlos Ghosn, says he expects the spread of electric vehicles around the world to be a gradual one, predicting internal combustion and hybrid units will continue to dominate for decades.

EV infrastructure gets a kick-start in the UK

The British Government is ramping up its push for electric vehicle infrastructure by today offering £30 million (AUD$54.4 million) grants to prospective pioneering cities.

Porsche 911 GT3 R developed for GT motor sport in 2010

Porsche has further developed its 911 GT3 for the 2010 motor sport season with a model specifically designed to comply with international FIA GT3 regulations.
