2009 Aston Martin Vantage GT4

Aston Martin has launched the new 2009 Vantage GT4 racer which parallels the recently released 4.7 litre V8 Vantage as its race-spec counterpart.

The hand-built Vantage GT4 was unveiled in Dubai this week after six months of development by Aston Martin Racing, and tested extensively at the Dubai Autodrome.

Before it has even been completely revealed, 100 of the worlds most wealthy have apparently placed a firm order for Aston Martin’s upcoming One-77 supercar.

Whilst my colleagues were out in the Snowy Mountains enjoying the spoils of the first Australian steer in Aston Martin’s stunning new Vantage Coupe last fortnight, I was contented to sit in the office a little longer waiting patiently for my first steer in the exquisite 09MY 4.7-litre V8 Vantage Roadster. Let me tell you, it was well worth the wait.

Aston Martin One-77 teaser No. 2

Aston Martin has today released another snapshot of the stunning One-77 supercar, along with a few more details.

Being a bit more specific with its engine details, Aston Martin has revealed that this is not an enlarged version of the current DBS (as was previously speculated), but indeed an all new engine. The size? 7.3-litres, thank you very much.

Aston Martin launches DBS auto

Responding to customer requests, Aston Martin has now launched its DBS with an automatic transmission, which it is calling the Touchtronic 2.

Basically, a similar unit to the DB9’s automatic, the Touchtronic 2 is a transaxle ZF transmission which has been upgraded to handle the higher power and torque from the V12 of the DBS.
