Update: Honda, Hyundai and Kia donate $100,000 each to Queensland flood victims
Members of the Australian automotive industry have reached into their pockets to help out the Queensland flood disaster victims and to aid the recovery process. The Honda Foundation, Hyundai and Kia have all just donated $100,000 each to the Premier's Disaster Relief Appeal.
The Honda Foundation, an organisation that has been around since 1992, has been supporting local communities over the years and has since donated up to $7.5 million to those in need. Lindsay Smalley of the Honda Foundation said,
"These floods have devastated communities in Queensland and will have ramifications across Australia for many months to come. The Honda Foundation wants to show its support to the people of Queensland during this very difficult time."
Kia and Hyundai have also reached out to those in need, giving up an equally generous sum of money to contribute to the appeal. Kia Motors Australia president and CEO, Mr. M.K Kim,
"The scope of the tragedy brought by this natural disaster is difficult to comprehend."

As of 3pm yesterday, the appeal had managed to raise $45,488,444.
UPDATE: Kumho Tyres Australia has just announced it is also donating $20,000 to the same appeal.
UPDATE: Holden and GM Foundation announced on its Facebook page that the company has also contributed donations towards flood victims by pledging $350,000 to the Channel 9 Flood Relief Appeal.
UPDATE: Mazda has announced it is also donating $268,000 to the same Queensland Premier's Disaster Relief Appeal.
UPDATE 14/02/2011: Mitsubishi Motors Australia Limited, as well as Queensland Mitsubishi Dealer Network, have just announced they are donating $70,000 to the Premier’s Disaster Relief Appeal and $30,000 to the Brisbane City Council, Lord Mayor’s Community Disaster Relief Appeal Fund.
