2011 Ariel Atom Mugen Limited Edition

As if the Ariel Atom isn't already track-focused enough, there's now a even faster and more seriously-focused track version, called the Ariel Atom Mugen.

Since the Ariel Atom is powered by Honda, Honda's main tuning specialist, Mugen, thought it might as well give the Atom a bit of a poke with a stick. Mugen started by completely rebuilding the engine, giving it forged internals, a bigger camshaft and throttle body and gave it an even higher compression ratio.

The company also dyno tuned the engine, resulting in 201kW of power at a screaming 8300rpm. There's also 255Nm of torque available at a relatively high 6000rpm.

Mugen isn't limited to offering engine expertise though, the company also sees fit that the rest of the chassis is up to scratch by adapting fully adjustable suspension, four-piston Alcon alloy brake calipers front and rear, and 290mm Alcon ventilated discs.

To say the least, the Ariel Atom Mugen would absolutely fly. Fly out the door, too. Only 10 of them will ever be made so it's expected they will all be sold to die hard track day fans in an instant.
