Vauxhall Monaro VXR500
October 16, 2006 by Alborz Fallah
Holden may have stopped selling the almighty Holden Monaro, however Vauxhall is still selling the last of the now discontinued Vauxhall Monaros. This beauty below is the Vauxhall Monaro VXR500, yes the 500 stands for the horsepower rating. 500 horsepower Monaro? Yes please.

So how fast does this baby go? Well how does 4.8 seconds to 100 sound? Pretty good? I thought so.
How on earth did someone get 500 horsepower from the 6.0 litre V8? A supercharger offcourse! I can only imagine how good this car will sound with a supercharger.

Its a shame to see the Monaro fade out of existance once again, rumors say though that a new monaro is indeed in the works, Holden obviously denies everything, but its still good to dream.

What an amazing car. It’s just perhaps the perfect car- cheap, aggressive, beautiful and practical speed.
Rest In Peace, Monaro. You will be sorely missed.
Amen
…A real car & with attitude taboot!
Its not dead in the water yet according to Barry Park SMH 20.12.06. There are claims of a concept 2 door under construction in Detroit and built in Canadian named “camaro” and a convertable!!Launch date around 2009…….
Its a lovely car I would get one but Vauxhall spares cost soo much where we live it would end up costing me a fortune.
I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow… you all think is this a great car, but in reality this car came out in 2004 in the USA as the “Pontiac GTO”.
It’s the same body style and modifications as the US version. But no dought about it, it is a great car.
The Pontiac is a Monaro and not the other way around. Australian “general motors” has been exporting V8 cars to the US for about 6 years now. Check out hsv.com.au & holden.com.au
