Honda Civic Si Concept sedan and coupe unveiled at Detroit Auto Show

Honda has unveiled the Honda Civic Si Concept sedan and coupe at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The cars are expected to be the basis for the upcoming 2012 Honda Civic design.

The new shape offers an active, 'one motion' design language that looks both aggressive and modern, and the great part is, this shape will bring much inspiration to the upcoming ninth generation Honda Civic production version, due here later this year.

Powering the Honda Civic Si Concepts, and the upcoming 2012 Honda Civic range, are an even more fuel efficient range of i-VTEC engines using the latest Lift Control and variable valve timing technology.

With 19-inch wheels and a sporty bodykit, the concept is a sure step away from the somewhat conservative Honda Civic design currently available.

These 'Si' versions might also be the basis for an upcoming Honda Civic Type R variant, too. Only time will tell. Look forward to further information on the Australian-model details towards the second half of this year.
