Fiat are the people who developed the Modern common rail diesel engine but it not have enough money in the early 2000’s due to their financial turmoil and hence sold the license to Bosch who is making a $$$.
Fiat is one the the best performing car manufactures with a good line up.

Fiat invented modern diesel technology and their turbo engines have always been brilliant (lancia delta rally cars and awesomely quick Fiat Coupe). The only thing that will let Fiat down will be the dealers and after sales service. Awesome looking car.

Certainly better looking than the ugly Peugeot 308.

Would still like a 2-litre performance model like the Golf GTI, but an Abarth model might have to do.

There have been Fiat Ritmos in the past, so i don`t believe that the name is a problem. In Europe this car replaces a model called the Stilo (one of the dullest looking cars available IMO) so the name is somewhat of an improvement. And yes I can confirm that it is Italian for rhythm.

Where I live, VW Golfs are more common than Camrys, so I think that people will soon begin looking for something a little more original. The Ritmo (as well as the Pug 308) should do well on this score. If the Alfa 147 and Audi A3 were sensibly priced they would also be doing much better.

Ritmo is an appalling name. My as well have called it the Fiat Jerk.

Nice car though, Fiat have come a long way from the bad old days.

Ive been to the Fiat museum in Torino, did you know Fiat had a battery powered car in 1913. They also have a steam powered car there from 1900’s. War stuffed up much development.

As I mentioned above I love the style of this, its somewhat ahead of its competition including the Focus which has been around scince 1999 in its first form and is considered a bit dull and conservative by some nowadays.

Looks great, good alternative to Golf I guess.

But it just looks too much like Golf + headlights from new Hyundia Tiburon to me, but still beatiful looking car.

Yes they changed the name to what “Ritmo” sounds like a cheesy cracker to me. It’s the Bravo in Europe and I for one love the style but the test I’ve read on it say it’s only OK not yet a match for the Focus. Wait a few months and I reckon Fiat will put the 2.0ltr 150Kw diesel engine in it from the Alfa’s.
