Pagani C9 Huayra named and second teaser released
The Pagani Zonda supercar lineup was, and still is, regarded as the most exotic and most flamboyant collection of supercars out there. Now, the small Italian company that resides in a little industrial town in northern Italy called San Cesario sul Panaro, in Modena, is about to launch a successor to the exclusive yet mainstream Zonda supercar, the Pagani C9 - now known as the Pagani Huayra.
If there was ever a car company to evolve specifically through pure aesthetic passion and pinnacle performance using absolutely zero compromise, then Pagani would rest at the top. For this reason, evolution tells us the just-patented Pagani Huayra will be something truly astonishing.
We've seen a few spy shots of the car touring around parts of Europe and North America, undergoing all kinds of thorough testing. This included extreme hot weather testing on some of the world's near-uninhabitable deserts, as well as undergoing extreme high-altitude testing in parts of Europe. All up, the Pagani Huayra has reportedly covered around 500,000 excruciating kilometres of scrutiny.
So far, we know the C9/Huayra will use an all-new tailor-made Mercedes-Benz engine specifically designed for the Huayra. It'll be a twin-turbocharged, V12-configured engine offering 6.0-litres of harmonious combustion.
The new car will feature the traditional quad-cluster exhaust tip layout. Even though some of our spy shots show exhausts poking out from the bottom, spy photographs seen on other parts of the internet (Google) show four exhaust pipes filling the vacant position seen in our spy shot above. Either way, the tips will bellow out an even more powerful, 520kW shriek, pop and purr.
The great thing about the seemingly boundless Pagani Huayra supercar, sure to offer endless attention to detail, is that it will be in touch with recent environment-oriented movements, which means the glorious engine has passed Euro 5 and 2013 Californian emission tests - also known as the most stringent in the world.
No one expects a car like this, a car that seems like it was designed using unlimited boundaries, to also be relatively green. This will be due to the twin turbochargers - as a general rule, conventional internal combustion engines run more efficiently with turbocharging due to the assistance in breathing.
Pagani has announced it will unveil the car at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show, commencing on March 3. In the meantime, Pagani has released a couple of teaser videos. The first video, we got a glimpse of what the Huayra will look like in the form of Mr Horacio Pagani holding a small, scale model.
