Meals on wheels with an exotic twist

Meals on Wheels is an organisation run by volunteers, dedicated to providing aged and disabled people with food delivered to their door. But if you're a car buff, how would you feel when a Lamborghini Gallardo rolled into your driveway?

Well, that's exactly what happened last week, when in New Jersey a bunch of exotic cars was enlisted to ferry hot meals to those in need. The cars were supplied by exotic rental company Gotham Dream Cars, and consisted of the Gallardo, a Dodge Viper SRT-10, a Maserati Quattroporte, a Bentley Continental GTC, a Range Rover Sport Supercharged and others.

“The Pascack Valley Meals on Wheels makes a big impact in relieving senior hunger in Bergen County, and we’re pleased to support their efforts,” said Noah Lehmann-Haupt, Founder/CEO of Gotham Dream Cars. “Our vehicles are exotic, and we thought using them to support local volunteers would be a great way to get the word out about the program to those who don’t realize what a difference it makes to seniors in need.”

The event was dubbed the “Fastest Meals on Wheels in the Country” and along with the donation of the cars and time, Gotham Dream Cars also pledged to donate 10 percent of all rental gift certificates.

“The support of our community is essential to combating senior hunger in the area,” said Jeanne Martin, Director of the Pascack Valley Meals on Wheels. “We’re pleased to have the support of Gotham Dream Cars to help spread the message about the difference local volunteers can make in helping out seniors in need.”
